The member of our research group, Dr. Dávid Ispán participated in the 7th Iberoamerican Meeting on Ionic Liquids Conference in Coimbra (Portugal) in November 20-22, 2024. „IMIL2024 aims to comprehensively cover fundamental aspects, applied research, and practical applications of these innovative classes of solvents. It seeks to create an environment conducive to the participation of both emerging and established researchers, further expanding the extensive scope and adaptability within this captivating scientific domain.”
The conference was attended by many participants from Portugal and Spain, but there were also participants from Chile, Brazil, Poland and Ukraine. Dr. Dávid Ispán was the only Hungarian participant, so he represented Hungary at the conference.
He presented his scientific results in poster form: „Application of reversible ionic liquids in Claisen-Schmidt condensation of steroidal ketones„
Many interesting and high-quality works were presented at the conference, so there was a great opportunity for scientific discussion in the breaks between presentations and to learn about the work of colleagues working on similar topics in other states.
After the scientific presentations, there was an opportunity to explore the city, which may also be interesting because Coimbra is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
But our colleague also visited the city of Porto and spent the weekend following the conference in the capital, Lisbon.
